In 1952, a lure was created in the basement of Mr. Arch Tilford's home. The lures were of high quality and created to assist fishermen in catching Walleye. He named his new lure the Green Mountain Grabber. They were sold in assorted colors. He decided to wholesale the Green Mountain Grabber to local tackle shops. The business was and is very successful.

Through the years fishermen using the Green Mountain Grabber have been catching Walleye successfully on Lake Champlain. Fishermen all over New England agree that the Green Mountain Grabber in its 48 assorted colors is the lure to use. They all agree that the Green Mountain Grabber is the lure to use if you're looking to catch a Walleye, Bass, Northern or Trout.

In 2001, the Green Mountain Tackle business and the Green Mountain Grabber lure was purchased by Raymond Smith, owner and operator of Green Mountain Sporting Supplies, LLC. We pledge to our customers the same high quality lure they have been accustomed to from Green Mountain Tackle. We will continue to sell wholesale to tackle shops throughout New England and beyond.
